Modeling Low Poly Armor
This tutorial covers modeling low polygon armor by extruding edges.
Starting with a cylindrical ring,

add the basic chest and back shape, while extruding the bottom edges down to form the bottom of the pectoral muscle shape.

Next, extrude down a couple times to add lower chest/ribs cover, and extrude up to close the top of the model.

Extrude down a couple more times to close the model, and break up the shoulder area with more defined shape. Subdivide faces and extrude up the neck guard for a little extra protection.

Finally, smooth out and clean up the model. The shoulder pads were made from smoothing a cube and pulling up the bottom faces.

The final armor model is fairly basic. Using this as ground work for a more detailed or specific design is suggested.
